Guy Pearce has sadly announced that his mother passed away on Monday night, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.
The Australian movie star, who started out his career on the hit TV show Neighbors, took to social media to share the tragic news with fans, as he posted a range of beautiful family photos to pay tribute to his mother.

The actor took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to announce the tragic passing of his mother, Anne, who had been suffering from Alzheimer’s since 2010. Guy described his mother as ‘sharp’ and ‘witty’ in the emotional post, as he shared some rare family photos.
In the post, Guy shared four pictures of his mother when she was younger as well as photos of himself and his sister Tracy, standing alongside Anne.
In the caption, the actor wrote: “Lost my beautiful Mum today. ‘Kicked the bucket’ as she would say. What a sharp, fierce & witty woman Anne was, until Alzheimer’s struck in 2010. It’s been a long & winding road. A fitting song 4 ur departure Mum. Tracy & I will miss u enormously. We’ll always love u XX”
The Memonto star’s father, who was an RAF pilot, passed away at age 39 at work, when Guy was just eight years old.

After seeing the emotional post on their timelines, fans took to the social media platform to offer Guy Pearce their condolences, as he mourns the loss of his mom.
“I’m so so sorry to hear this, my mother passed recently too. May you find strength and peace Guy,” penned one.
“I’m so sorry. Take care of you,” another wrote.
One commented: “Condolences to you and your family Guy. Losing your mum is surreal, like your greatest fan just left. It hurts a lot but then the bursts of memory come, and your story makes sense again. The love never leaves.”
